Smaller Assets

Lantern

All areas and levels require smaller assets to create an entire level and having minimal abilities in terms of modelling – I began working on the simple lantern as a method of enhancing skills which I can then transfer into work during the major asset creation. Due to a lack of lighting within the area provided – therefore a simple light source was required, in order to do so a small lantern was designed and modeled in order to provide such.

This process began with basic sketches (as illustrated below)

Following this – the production of the model itself took place, this began with the basic production of the main parts such as the base and the center column. This then needed to be UV mapped and textured before being put into the engine and equipped with light.

Bridge

As illustrated in the concept designs, this area is based on a smaller island within a pond and therefore a bridge was required. This was creating a simple by plank design and creating a bend formation in which it will follow. This was then textured and put into the engine.

Gate

The puzzle within this area is the picking up of a key and therefore being able to open a gate which will enable the progression to the upper area of the level. This was created combining a series of polygonal shapes, being UV mapped and then textured
